Tiger Day

There are several types of tiger including the Bengal, Siberian, Indochinese, South Chinese, Sumatran, Malayan, Caspian, Javan and Bali.

Use activities 1, 2 and 3 to help you fill in your Tiger Report. Then complete activities 4 and 5.  Activity 6 is a reward for all your hard work.

  1. Read this article about the Siberian Tiger, and you can watch the videos. Fill out the papers on Habitat and Diet. On the drawing page, fill out the official name, genus, species, etc. If you are missing any information there is more here.
  2. Look at this pinterest page and pick one that shows how to draw a tiger. Just click on the pin and it will get bigger, you don’t need to go to the webpage. Draw your tiger on the page that has a drawing square. You may listen to music while you do this if you like. Draw some background if you want. Add color if you want.
  3. Watch this documentary about Siberian Tigers. It’s long, so you only have to watch part of it today if you want.
  4. Read this short story called The Tiger and The Lion.
  5. Listen to this example of an ACROSTIC poem about tigers. Use this acrostic builder to generate your own. There should be one fact per letter, and your sentence should start with that letter. They should be FACTS, not sentences like “Tigers are terrible.” An example of a fact would be for the first letter: “Tigers live in Eurasian tundra”
  6. When you are finished with everything, watch this video and this video (two surprises for your hard work!):
