Bible verses about life after death

No purgatory, no reincarnation, only Heaven, or hell.

1. Hebrews 9:27 And just as it is appointed for people to die once–and after this, judgment.

2. Matthew 25:46 These people will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous will go into eternal life.

3. Luke 16:22-23 One day the beggar died, and the angels carried him to be with Abraham. The rich man also died and was buried. He went to hell, where he was constantly tortured. As he looked up, in the distance he saw Abraham and Lazarus.

Christians never die.

4. Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in union with the Messiah Jesus our Lord.

John 5:24-25 I tell you the solemn truth, the one who hears my message and believes the one who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned, but has crossed over from death to life. I tell you the solemn truth, a time is coming–and is now here–when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live.

We are citizens of Heaven.

Hell is eternal pain and torment for those outside of Christ.

23. Revelation 14:11 The smoke from their torture goes up forever and ever. There is no rest day or night for those who worship the beast and its image or for anyone who receives the mark of its name.”
